How much do you know about redistricting? In Georgia, the state legislature alone determines what State House, State Senate and Congressional district you live in, and thus who represents you. This is an obvious conflict of interest:  Elected officials are selecting their own voters. For this reason, it is essential that the General Assembly avoid secrecy and do the work of redistricting in full view of the public. Yet in the past, this process has largely shut out the public.


You care about your community and you know it’s important who represents you. Fair Districts Georgia is committed to making sure your voice is heard, regarding of your party preference. Fair Districts Georgia is asking for an open redistricting process in which the public has the opportunity to review the proposed districts before they are set in stone. We want the process to serve the public, not legislators who are looking out for their own interests. This begins by publicly releasing a schedule for the redistricting process through the special session. When will the maps be released for public comment?
