Archive - Map Room 2021

After a 2021 Special Session to redistrict the state of Georgia, Governor Kemp signed the maps into law. These maps are now in place for the 2022 elections.

In the attachments below, you will find transcripts from Minority Leader Gloria Butler and State Senator John Kennedy describing the rationales behind proposed maps.

These benchmarking overviews of the enacted maps were produced by Fair Districts GA in partnership with the Princeton Gerrymandering Project. These include background on how benchmarks for fair maps are established as well as comparison of the final enacted maps to these benchmarks.

Finally, Princeton Gerrymandering Project’s Mapping Corps was asked to produce maps for Georgia’s Congressional delegation.  A document summarizing and linking to the six GA Congressional maps that they developed can also be found in these attachments.
